About Me

Name: Karson Reese Jameson

Birthday: February 8, 2009

Birth City: Knoxville, TN
Hometown: Lenoir City, TN

Since day 1, Karson has always been a very intelligent and calm natured little boy. He has always slept pretty well, he started talking early, and he doesn't really cry all that much. Other than the surprise of hemophilia, the first few years have really been perfect.

As I just mentioned, the diagnoses of hemophilia was a surprise for us. We found out when he was 8 days old. You click on the link to the left (The Diagnoses) and rear about the day we found out.

Now, Karson is almost 3 years old and he is an absolute joy to be around. He goes to pre-school two days a week, and stays with his Mimi and other grandparents while mom and dad are at work. He loves playing with his cars and trucks from the "Cars" movie. He's not that into sports yet, but we are working on it. We know he won't be able to play the "contact" sports (football, basketball, etc.), but hopefully he will at least be interested in shooting some hoops with Dad one day, and maybe throwing the football around in the yard. And who knows, by the time he gets to the age to start playing those sports then maybe there will be some type of cure or extended treatment available.

Up to this point, we have not really restricted him too much because of his condition. Our doctors suggested wearing pads and helmets through his first couple of years while he was learning to crawl and walk, but we rarely made him wear anything other than knee and elbow pads when he was crawling. We want Karson to live a long, safe life; but we are not going to restrict him to the point where he is afraid to do anything. I do not want him to have a "handicapped" mindset.
